The National Aquarium, a purpose-built aquarium on Baltimore's Inner Harbor known for its pyramidal glass roofline, opened August 8, 1981; designed by Cambridge Seven Associates (now CambridgeSeven), building on the firm's earlier work on the New England Aquarium.
