Mirrored Earth — Casa Community Arts Centre

Mirrored Earth, an interactive artwork of approximately 600 motorized wall mirrors in the foyer of Casa Community Arts Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta, was completed in 2013 by artists Metz & Chew with technical build and fabrication by Eos Lightmedia; the piece is on long-term loan from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

Description

Sensors track passersby and trigger scattered mirrors to turn and follow their movement, evoking the region's coulee landscape and referencing "the glimmer of sun on water" and "a flutter of rising birds," per the artists' statement.
